When it comes to your weight loss journey, picking the right fat burner can be what takes your results to the next level. But knowing what to look for isn’t always simple, especially when formulas change often. Fortunately, that’s why we’re here! In this post, we’re going over Synadrene by Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals, and we’ll cover some popular faqs, like what’s changed since it was released in 2016.
What is Synadrene?
Synadrene by Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals is a top-class fat burner that replicates a discontinued fat burner, Metabolic Nutrition’s Synedrex. Similar to Synedrex, Synadrene had a revision from a version with the addition of 1,3-Dimethylamylamine HCL (DMAA) to 2-Aminoisoheptane (DMHA). Synadrene can be used by anyone looking to burn some extra calories, get that extra edge in their routine, shed fat, maintain muscle, or have more energy during the day.†
The Original Synadrene Ingredients:
The B vitamins may help increase your energy. Whereas chromium can help insulin transport glucose into cells, which in turn is used for energy.†
- Vitamin B12
- Vitamin B3
- Chromium
- Vitamin B6
Synadrene Proprietary blends:
- Methylxanthine
- Green Tea Extract
- DMAA
- Sulbutiamine
- Sandalwood Extract
- Yohimbine Extract
- Alpha Lipoic Acid
- Poly-Thyronine
Methylxanthine is a mild stimulant that includes caffeine, theophylline, and theobromine. (1) Unfortunately, this version of Synadrene doesn’t state what type of stimulant Methylxanthine is. However, it is often used in dietary supplements, representing caffeine on the label. The next ingredient, Green Tea Extract, is a very potent antioxidant. It also acts as a thermogenic, increasing thermogenesis in the body. (2)
Next is the 1,3-dimethylamylamine HCl (DMAA), which is a strong stimulant. With the DMAA, you’ll notice increased energy and focus. (3) Sulbutiamine is a great nootropic and also an appetite suppressant. It also really helps with alertness, tackling that “brain fog” feeling. (4)
Sandalwood Extract may help with muscle cramping and shows promise as an anti-diabetic (5). Yohimbine Extract may help with stubborn fat areas by increasing fat utilization (6). Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is another antioxidant. Studies suggest that ALA may have some anti-obesity properties, which may result in some weight loss. (7) Finally, Poly-Thyronine is a combination of thyroid hormone metabolites T2. In terms of fat loss, this ingredient may boost metabolism and reduce appetite (8).
Why Remove DMAA?
In August 2018, DMAA was no longer considered a dietary supplement by the US FDA. Therefore, products containing it had to be reformulated. (9) Synadrene wasn’t the only product affected by this change. Other popular fat burners like Hydroxyelite and Lipodrene were also reformulated along with changes in pre workouts like Mesomorph.

Synadrene Now:
This formula features:
- Caffeine
- Green Tea Extract
- 2-Aminoisoheptane HCl (DMHA)
- Walnut Extract
- Sulbutiamine
- Sandalwood Extract
- Yohimbe Extract
- Alpha Lipoic Acid
- Poly-Thyronine.
As you can see, most of the ingredients stayed the same after the change. In fact, the only formula change is the addition of DMHA and Walnut Extract and the removal of DMAA. Visually, we can also see that the methylxanthine has been changed to caffeine. But overall, the ingredient blends and milligrams are the same across the versions. DMHA is actually sourced from the walnut tree, so by including both DMHA and Walnut Extract in Synadrene, the effects of DMHA may be amplified. (10)
Synadrene Benefits:
Synadrene is a high-stim fat burner. Because of this, many of the benefits you may experience stem from the stimulant. Those benefits can include increased energy, mood/focus boost, improved metabolism, and appetite suppression. Based on our customer feedback, the most prominent effect of Synadrene in 2024 is appetite suppression!
Of course, individual results and effects will vary, but let’s check out some customer feedback, too!
Synadrene Reviews:
Similar To Synadrene:
For starters, if you like Synadrene, you may find Synedrex from Metabolic Nutrition to be a good alternative. Read more about Synedrex HERE!
Synadrene VS Hydroxyelite:
As we mentioned previously, Hydroxyelite and Synadrene were both affected by the removal of DMAA and as a result both formulas now contain DMHA. Like Synadrene, Hydroxyelite is often famed for it’s appetite suppression properties. So which Hi-Tech fat burner is better?
Above we have the label for the current version of Hydroxyelite. If you’d like to read more about Hydroxyelite’s previous formula click HERE. Or about how it compares to Oxyelite Pro, click HERE.
From the label, we see Hydroxyelite contains:
- Bauhinia Extract
- Bacopa Extract
- Walnut Bark Extract
- Cirsium Oligophyllum Extract
- Rauwolscine Extract
- Garcinia Cambogia Extract
- DMHA
- Caffeine
When compared to Synadrene, 3 ingredients are directly shared; Caffeine, DMHA, and Walnut Bark Extract. There is also a similar fourth ingredient pair: Yohimbe and Rauwolscine.
Rauwolscine is actually a metabolite of Yohimbine, which works mainly by blocking alpha-2 adrenergic receptors located in fat cells. Once yohimbine has bound with a fat cell, it “turns off” the alpha receptor, which allows the fat cells to mobilize and burn off. (12)
The other ingredients in Hydroxyelite dive into categories like thermogenesis, mood/focus, and appetite suppression.†
Is Hydroxyelite Better?
After comparing the labels and reviews, we would say Hydroxyelite may be better for individuals seeking a potent appetite suppressant. However, we would expect Synadrene to better suit individuals looking for a fat burner to promote energy and thermogenesis. Lastly, we would expect the focus and mood-boosting properties of ingredients like Bacopa Extract to be more prominent in Hydroxyelite.†
If you’re looking for an alternative to these fat burners or a better appetite suppressant, we recommend checking out Methyldrene Elite.
