Alila Kothaifaru Maldives honours graduates of RiseHY internship program – Hotelier Maldives

Alila Kothaifaru Maldives recently celebrated the graduation of its latest group of interns who successfully completed the hands-on ‘RiseHY by Hyatt’ program. This global initiative aims to provide young people from all backgrounds with practical exposure to various hotel functions, helping them envision fulfilling careers in the hospitality industry.

The internship program at Alila Kothaifaru offers participants the unique opportunity to gain experience within a sustainable, luxury resort environment. Over several months, the interns learned essential skills across multiple departments, culminating in a ceremony attended by resort management and staff to honour their achievements.

As part of Alila Kothaifaru’s commitment to sustainability and hospitality excellence, the program allows participants to work in areas such as guest services, culinary arts, wellness, and environmental sustainability. This initiative reflects the resort’s mission to deliver outstanding service, promote responsible tourism, and create opportunities for aspiring professionals.

General Manager Thomas Weber expressed pride in the graduates, stating that the resort remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of hospitality professionals. According to Weber, the program provides a platform for young talent to grow and thrive in a world-class environment. He commended the interns for their dedication to the values of luxury hospitality and sustainability that are central to Alila Kothaifaru’s identity.

Director of Human Resources Rif-ath Fareed highlighted the program’s importance in talent development, emphasising the focus on creating well-rounded professionals who balance luxury service with sustainable practices. Fareed noted the satisfaction of watching the interns grow throughout the program and expressed confidence in their readiness to excel in the industry.

One of the graduating interns, Saahil Sameer, described the program as transformative. Sameer reflected on learning about the operations of a luxury resort and the importance of environmental stewardship, crediting the experience at Alila Kothaifaru for building confidence and providing the tools for a meaningful hospitality career.

The resort held a ceremony to mark the occasion, presenting certificates of completion to the interns as recognition for their hard work. With the program now concluded, the graduates are prepared to embark on the next chapter of their professional journeys, equipped with invaluable experience and a strong foundation in sustainable luxury hospitality.
